BREAKING: Amaechi Explodes Over ADC Primaries, Rejects “Concocted Results” Amid Atiku's Rigging Allegations

Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has rejected the ADC presidential primaries results, accusing party officials of rigging, voter disenfranchisement,

Former Rivers State Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has rejected the ADC presidential primaries results, alleging massive voter disenfranchisement, vote buying, and manipulation.

Former Rivers State Governor and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has openly rejected the outcome of the party’s presidential primaries, describing the announced results as “concocted” following alleged widespread voter disenfranchisement across the country.

In a statement shared on his verified X account, Amaechi said he could not accept the outcome of a process that he believes failed to meet the standards of fairness, transparency, and credibility expected by Nigerians.

According to him, the ADC was created to offer Nigerians a better alternative and rescue the country from what he described as “impunity and gross mismanagement” under the current administration. However, he expressed disappointment that the party allegedly engaged in the same electoral irregularities it had previously condemned.

“I had initially stated that I will only accept the outcome of the Primaries if the process was free, fair, and transparent, and I stand by my word,” Amaechi stated.

The former Minister of Transportation further alleged that nearly 80 percent of party members were prevented from voting during the exercise, questioning the legitimacy of the results being announced afterward.

“There’s no way that about eighty percent of members of the party were not allowed to vote, and you expect me to accept such results,” he said.

Amaechi also criticized alleged acts of vote buying, result manipulation, and voter suppression during the primaries, warning that such practices contradict the ADC’s promises to Nigerians.

“A party that criticizes the ruling APC and INEC for vote buying, rigging and writing of results, cannot be engaged in vote buying, writing of results, and other electoral malpractices,” he added.

The statement has already generated mixed reactions across social media, with supporters and political observers debating the credibility of the primaries and the future of the ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

As of the time of filing this report, the leadership of the African Democratic Congress has not officially responded to Amaechi’s allegations.
